Great pressure cooker

The new redesgned lid looks and functions better than previous Fagor pressure cookers.

I used to have an aluminum pressure cooker, decided to get a steel one for health safety reasons. Started looking at smaller steel cookers, ended up choosing this one in spite of a considerably higher price. I like it. One small issue that might matter to you: it doesn't have a long handle pointing off to the side, making this large pot easier to store. The gasket comes out and goes back in easily when cleaning. Be sure to read the instructions. Cook multiple large artichokes in 12 minutes once pressure is attained. My wife rolls her eyes whenever I come home with another pot or pan, but she seems to appreciate this one.

Great price for the design and quality.

I was considering the Kuhn Rikon 12 qt model until I saw this. The two quart difference between this and the KR was almost a deal breaker, but I could purchase two of these and still be money ahead. This unit is manufactured in China, but overall the unit is well built and works the same as other Fagor pressure cookers. The clamping mechanism is really easy to use and you can clamp the lid anywhere you want on the pot. I like this unit because there are no handles sticking out and it is not awkward to move the pot when full of food. Worth looking into if you are in the market for a 10 qt stovetop unit.
